The biggest sporting extravaganza is back and it is going to be bigger than ever. The Indian Premier League that stuck its roots in 2008 is a phenomenon, unlike anything that has ever been witnessed before. Each term denoting the cities of India brings in unparalleled talent from home and abroad. The league has been created with a singular focus of giving the budding players an opportunity, and the limelight to shine in the world stage.
Players from all around the world take part in this which has effectively dubbed IPL as “one big cash-rich league”. The total valuation of this cricketing spectacle as a brand is close to $6 billion, which includes the merchandise, adverts and other relevant details. It even contributed to the country’s growth by a whopping $182 million, and that is saying
something.
In totality, there have been 11 seasons, and 2019 would mark as the 12th anniversary and the teams are ready to make their mark as they plunge in for the kill this year.
There will be 8 teams that will be competing in this season, and there will be a mandatory gap in between owing to the World Cup which starts later this year. 2019 saw a close fight in between the franchisees for gaining top players around the world, and the stage is set for a fight.

The key personnel involved in the preparations of the IPL 2019 have confirmed that this edition would be played out completely in India. Earlier, there were speculations concerning the possible venue shift in South Africa or United Arab Emirates owing to the incoming general elections in 2019.
But this time around, the matches would consist of a caravan format, meaning that the dates where the states would be having elections would not be selected for matches on that specific date. The proposal was sent to the Central Government by the BCCI and the IPL Board and the former have reacted positively on the same. The preparations are in full swing concerning the venues since this year promises to be bigger than ever.
Over 20 venues across the country have been put forth for hosting the league matches. Apart from the metro cities that usually host them, other cities would also be in contention for the same. Only one venue among the rest would be Abu Dhabi.
Some of these are listed out in the tabulated format-
